Justice (R) Yar Muhammad Nasir is the current chief Minister of Gilgit Baltistan. He is 3rd caretaker chief minister of Gilgit Baltistan and assumed office on 26th November 2025. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has appointed retired Justice Yar Muhammad as the caretaker Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, as the Chairman of the Gilgit-Baltistan Council. He is a former judge of the Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Court. He was sworn in as acting Chief Minister of Gilgit Baltistan on November 26, 2025 which was administered by Syed Mehdi Shah governor GB.

Yar Muhammad Nasir belongs to the village of Nasirabad in District Astore and has decades of experience in the field of law and judiciary. After completing his LLB degree from Karachi, Justice (R) Yar Muhammad practiced law in Gilgit Baltistan for nearly 15 years. He passed the Civil Judge exam through the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC), after which he served in various judicial positions. He was appointed as District and Sessions Judge, Registrar of the Chief Court, and later as a Judge of the Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Court.
