Malik Kafayat ur Rahman has been elected Deputy Speaker of Gilgit Baltistan legislative Assembly on 22 June 2023, he was elected as Deputy Speaker of the Gilgit Baltistan Assembly unopposed. He has been taken oath on June 22, 2026 which was administered by Speaker Imran Nadeem. He belongs Pakistan Muslim League PML-N. He was elected Member of Gilgit Baltistan Assembly from GBA-18 Diamer-IV.
