Army Chief General Asim Munir Ahmad
General Syed Asim Muneer Ahmad Shah is the current Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan Army. He replaced General Qamar Javed Bajwa as the head of the army on November 29, 2022. President of Pakistan Dr. Arif ur Rehman Alvi appointed him as Chief of Army Staff on the advice of Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif prime minister of Pakistan. He was serving as Quartermaster General at GHQ prior to taking over as COAS. He commanded the XXX Corps (Pakistan) in Gujranwala from 17 June 2019 to 6 October 2021. He served as the 23rd Director-General of the ISI from 25 October 2018 to 16 June 2019. He served as the DG Military Intelligence from December 2016 to October 2018. He has been awarded Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military) for his meritorious services.

General Asim Munir Ahmed was born on ABC 00, 1900 in Rawalpindi Punjab Pakistan. His family hails from a town of District Rawalpindi, Punjab. Gen Asim Munir joined the Pakistan Army from the Mangala Officers Training School programme and then became a commissioned officer in the Frontier Force Regiment. He is also a holder of the Sword of Honour.
